Dell's "free" support is only during the warranty or extended warranty period no different than the warranty on your car - it's good for a specified period and after that it costs you. If you have an HP or some other brand you are in the same boat - free during the warranty or extended warranty period and it will cost you after that.
There's no "free lunch". Actually, Dell is better than most since they have this FREE forum that people can get help from other users. Check around and see who else has a forum like this.
